Follow Us for more adventures

My Name is Marc and I have been incredibly lucky to travel all around the world, visiting many beautiful places, meeting incredible people and taking part in many fantastic adventures.

I’ve taken part in races, wild camped, trekked forests, climbed stuff, ate things and generally tried as many of life’s wonderful opportunities as I can. I’ve done it on land, on sea and often both.

My adventures are usually short and achievable by everyone and that is what I am going to try to convey here. I am not a super adventurer, I didn’t discover anything, invent anything or explore unknown territories, but I have been very open to saying yes, meeting new people and being inquisitive as to what the world has to offer. I have also done some giant adventures and I will write about those too, but what I really want to emphasise is that every day is an adventure, every weekend has the opportunity for exploration, however small, and that you too, even as a regular Dad, Mum, Brother, Sister or friend can bring that joy into your loved ones lives.

My biggest adventure has been getting married and becoming a Dad. For me, it changed my perspective on life, on what was important and how I had to prioritise things differently. You will read and hear a lot about how I managed that transition and how we continue to explore and have adventures together as a family, sometimes necessarily alone, but always with the full support of everyone in our little gang.

I write about great things that we do together, some of the amazing things that I have done solo, our plans, our dreams and of course every now and again, our difficulties along the way.

A reminder, I am not a super human, I am to all intents and purposes a normal guy, a Dad, a husband and, sometimes I hope, a friend to some people I am very lucky to share my life with. I am also not particularly rich, I do not spend a lot on the latest tech, I don’t drink, we rarely eat out, most of our adventures are done ‘on the cheap’ staying in campsites or our van rather than hotels, having picnics rather than dining in restaurants and we are never happier than when we are walking, riding or scootering round new villages, exploring the woods and forests near where we live or climbing things, jumping off stuff or trying to figure out how things work. I also struggle, like many of us, with fear, imposter syndrome, even depression from time to time and I will be open about how this affects my choices, my enjoyment and my openness to opportunities.

So, if you’re looking for adventure, whatever that means to you, hopefully we can inspire you to get out there and do some fun stuff. I am always up for new challenges so if there is something that you think we should be trying then let me know and we’ll most likely give it a go!

Happy adventuring to all you

Marc
